General Responsibilities for Department Heads
The following is a general list of the expectations for department heads for Free Spirit Gathering
- Review objectives with Coordinator – discuss with coordinator the objectives of the department for the festival.
- Review budget – determine how money is to be spent – Review the budget for the department with the coordinator, determine whether sufficient resources have been allocated, and determine how that money will be spent.
- Set Schedule – If necessary, set the schedule for Events related to your department and coordinate with other department heads and head of programming that schedule so it can be put on the official schedule.
- Organize volunteers – As necessary, communicate with, organize, and schedule volunteers for your department.
- Prepare periodic reports – Provide periodic reports to the Coordinator on your departments as necessary. This is typically monthly, but may be different depending upon the department.
- Run Department at festival – Serve as the primary organizer for items related to your department during festival.
- Provide post festival report on department to coordinator – What worked, what didn’t, ideas of next year, etc.
